FREE Debt Collection!
If you have a client contract that contains an appropriate debt collection cost clause that your debtor has signed or agreed to, then we can add your Collect It Online costs to your debtors bill!
This effectively means that you can use our Debt Collection service for FREE!
To take advantage of this option, simply check the box within the 'Your Client Contract' section when placing your order. Note that we still charge your credit card, but we add the cost of the service to your debtors bill, so you are compensated when the debtor pays.
Please be aware that penalties of up to $1,100,000 apply for deceptive or misleading conduct as outlined by the ACCC, so ensure that you only check this option if you are certain that your debt collection cost clause exists.
More information about this option is available under our Terms of Use. If you're unsure whether your contract contains this clause, or would like to discuss including such a clause within your contract, please don't hesitate to Contact us.
How to Create an Order (Submit a Debt)
Proceed to the debt creation page and submit your debt by entering some information about yourself or your company, plus details regarding the debt and debtor.
You'll also need to select which of our services you would like us to employ in the debt recovery process. Then enter your credit card details and choose whether or not you have a debt collection clause within your client contract, so you can pass on debt recovery costs to the debtor.
Click the 'Submit' button, and we'll present you with a receipt page and sent a confirmation email to your nominated email address. Your services will be placed in a queue and we will only charge your credit card as we process each of your services.
How our Debt Recovery Process Works
The Service Queue
After you submit your debt to Collect It Online, we add each of your selected services into a service queue for that particular debt.
We process the first service within 24 hours on business days (or on the same day if the debt is submitted prior to 1pm EST), and the remaining services in the queue are placed on hold until a specific period of time has elapsed to allow the service to take effect. We call this period of time the Service Interval.
The Service Interval
This is the delay between service processing for each of your debts that allows for both debtor payment and for you to notify us that the debt has been recovered, thereby cancelling the rest of your order.
The Service Interval is a number of days equal to the sum of the debtor's payment window of the particular service (for example, the debtor has 3 days to pay for an initial Letter of Demand) plus a 5 day cooling off period which allows ample opportunity for you to receive payment and cancel your remaining services.
The Service Sequence
Your selected services will be processed in the following sequence:
- Letter of Demand 1
- Letter of Demand 2
- Final Demand Letter
- Phone Call
- Field Call
Thus, if you nominate a Final Demand Letter and a Field Call as your services, the Final Demand will be processed first and then we'll process and action the Field Call after a Service Interval of 26 days (21 days for the Final Demand payment window, plus the 5 day cooling off).
Service Processing
When Collect It Online processes your services we do a number of things:
- We charge your credit card. This only occurs as we process each service, so there is no need to pay up front. It should also be noted that we do not store credit card information in any of our systems, nor are your credit card details accessible to any of our staff at any time.
- We create or action your current service. If it's a letter, we'll create it and dispatch it to your debtor using the delivery methods you've nominated. If it's a phone call, we'll call your debtor and use techniques developed over our 25 years of experience in order to persuade the debtor to pay. If it's a field call, we'll get one of our agents around Australia in touch with you to pursue the debt in person.
- We also send a credit card receipt and email confirmation to you advising that one of your services has been processed.
Notification of Debt Payment
A particularly important aspect of our service is the requirement for you to notify us when a debt is recovered.
In order to prevent us unnecessarily processing services remaining in your service queue for a particular debt, you must notify us by phone or email when a debt has been paid.
Please send an email to or call us on 1300 001 236 to cancel your remaining services.
